The WestEnd Commons

The WestEnd commons is the conversion of the St. Matthew’s Anglican Church into a dynamic residential and resource centre space in the building at Maryland and St. Matthews. This transformation of the building was done by St. Matthews Non Profit Housing, Inc (SMNPH) who leases the building and oversees the WestEnd Commons.

The WestEnd Commons is a multi-purpose complex with 26 units of affordable housing; a Neighbourhood Resource Centre in the lower level and a small separately funded worship space on the first floor.

Genny Funk-Unrau is a social worker and has done community development work in the West Central area of Winnipeg for 25 years. As part of her work at Klinic Community Health she sits on the board of the St. Matthews Non Profit Housing, Inc which runs the WestEnd Commons.
